This is what is left of the basilica, a place for administration of justice.
After digging through the ash and dust, they discovered this statue of Apollo, in the temple of Apollo.
This dusty place was once a home with several rooms.
This was a tavern that served food.
A collection of very dusty bits and pieces of pots seen through a window.(click on any photo to see full size) Please stop by here, to see what others have chosen to show. Happy weekend, a Happy Easter to everyone.

it must be a real treat to see all these in person even though it is hot and dusty.
Was Pompeii very crowded when you visited? It doesn't seem so from your photos -- very different from what I imagined in that regard!
YTSL, Actually, it was very crowded that day. I just was able to position myself, to avoid any one in my shots. It was crowded and hot, but I am so glad I went. It is hard to explain the feeling you get, as you walk around in there.
Pompeii and Herculaneum are two places I have always wanted to see.... despite the dust!
Mine is more the result of foul play than an act of God.

Great take on the theme. What a fascinating place to visit.
Wow! Very cool collection for the theme. :)
so poignant...you're quite good to avoid getting other people in your photos :) happy easter!
Love historical places with the ruins. I'm surprised there are not many visitors.
Love these shots; I really want to go to Pompeii someday.
Hope you had a wonderful Easter weekend!
It's a fascinating piece of history -- I'd love to see it someday! However, if you want 'dusty' closer to home, come and visit me in the high desert!
